Trekking

Although it’s called trekking,” it doesn’t involve rushing all over the place. Instead, I venture deep into the low mountains (satoyama) of Zushi, accessible by the Keikyu Line. With the murmur of a babbling brook as background music, I grill some meat, cook rice, and eat; after finishing my post-meal coffee, I take a stroll through the low mountains. On the way back, I take a bath, then sink into a box seat on the Yokosuka Line, drink a beer, and watch the throngs of passengers at Kamakura Station as I head home.

This trek is also used for business entertainment. Due to the size of the grill, the group is limited to three people. Since 3 is a prime number, it can’t be evenly divided, which is great because it allows everyone to join in the conversation.
