I imagine a lot of people own one of these. I thought I might use it with other devices, so I ended up buying three—but I’m only using one. Still, with its trackball mechanism, programmable keys, and support for multiple hosts (like PCs and tablets), I think it has plenty of uses.
I use it as a pointing device for The Deck. Specifically, I’ve assigned the Num Lock key on my Macintosh keyboard to it so I can directly activate the kana-kanji conversion from there. However—perhaps this is a weakness of Bluetooth? It often fails to register the first keystroke, so I compensate by pressing the key multiple times when switching to ensure it works reliably. For the other keys, I use them just as I would with a standard mouse or trackball—left-click, right-click, scroll, and so on.
