Background and Context

I don’t remember exactly how many times I’ve built my own website, but I think the very first one was around 2000, when I started with something like tripod.com. Back then, I was just typing HTML directly into the browser. Later, even after I registered a domain, I ended up doing something similar to typing HTML directly, and eventually built the site using WordPress. Even with that, though, I gave up on it because of security issues and the lack of continuity with the theme…

Technology Infrastructure

  • hugo
Used as a site generator. The theme is “relearn."

  • gitlab
*.md To manage the various articles written there, we initially used saas at gitlab to generate content internally via docker. However, out of fear of reaching the free-tier limit, we switched to Hybrid Runner to offload the heavy processing to the local machine, and gitlab is now dedicated solely to managing content and triggering generation and uploads.

  • DeepL
Used to generate English pages. Translated using a custom python script. The resulting file is *_en.md, which is extracted into the same directory as the original *.md. This file is then processed using the multilingual handling feature at relearn. Since Japanese is the system’s native language, an alert is displayed when switching languages to prompt the user to verify the translation quality.

  • AI
Use this as a guide and for implementation when building the site. Generate llms.txt at the same time as the site and place it in the root directory. To use llms.txt, when Contact is selected, prompt the user to feed teamknox.com/llms.txt to their favorite AI.

Appearance

The aloofness of the early 2000s.
