• Introduction
  　I actually need to go get some blue sandworms. So I’m heading to Joshuya on Nihon-dori, but I’m starting to get a little hungry.I decided to check out the café in the Yokohama Second Government Complex that I’d seen on YouTube before. Since I ended up arriving at Joshuya first, I considered buying the bait first… but I figured I wouldn’t really be able to relax at the café with the blue sandworms in tow, so I decided to stop by the café first.

• Thoughts
  　The Joint Government Building is right next to Bashamichi Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line. You can spot it right away from the outside—it says “Café” on the sign. Enter through the front entrance, and it’s on the left. The ordering system requires you to buy a meal ticket first. Since it’s inside the Joint Government Building, some people are using it for meetings, while others are taking a hearty nap. There are counter seats and table seats. I wanted to relax a bit, so I chose a table seat, but the cushions on the faux leather sofa were sagging and had taken on the shape of someone’s butt…
  　The pudding set I was after was 730 yen. When I checked the menu on the table later, I saw that the ginger pork set meal was 780 yen, which made me feel a little uneasy. I think I’ll make a point of ordering the ginger pork set meal next time. The pudding in the set was firm and dense. It wasn’t overly sweet, so I really enjoyed it. It was warm enough today to break a sweat, so I paired it with an iced coffee. Drinking straight from the glass without a straw nicely balanced out the sweetness of the pudding.
  　If you find yourself without a place to sit on a weekday while wandering from Yokohama Park to the Red Brick Warehouse, this would be the perfect spot to take refuge. It depends on the occasion and who you’re with, but I think I’ll definitely visit again.
