tripod.com

Lately, I’ve been really into building websites, and as I was thinking about where it all began, a conversation with AI led me to tripod.com. Since I’m a PC enthusiast, I got into the Internet relatively early on, but it seems this tripod.com really took off around 1998. I posted my work on that site around 2000. And apparently, I had even been running 2026/4 until quite recently. If I’d been lucky, I might have been able to salvage it, but it’s too late now.

Let me try to recall what kind of content I used to post. Well, it’s not hard to imagine that I was posting my work just like I do now. Back then, I was constantly working on Gameboy-related development and had a regular column on GameLab. I posted simple games and examples of how to use the tools. I think that was right around the time I was transitioning from BOSCH to NOKIA…

Technology is constantly changing, and I’m getting older too. It’s just the way of the world that new technologies keep emerging and replacing the old ones—there’s no point in worrying about it. Well, I don’t know how long this site will last, but based on what I’ve learned so far, I’ve tried to build in mechanisms throughout the site to help keep it going.
